A boat tour from Ao Nang covering Poda, Chicken and Tup Islands and Phra Nang Cave Beach, with snorkelling stops. It suits travellers based in Krabi and is shorter than a Phi Phi day, which makes it easier with children.

How to choose an operator
Look for a licensed operator with recent reviews, life jackets for every passenger, and a clear plan if the weather turns. A small-group speedboat costs more than a large boat, but it reaches the beaches sooner and is less crowded. Avoid buying from beach touts who cannot tell you the operator's name.
Is it safe for non-swimmers and children?
Yes, with sensible precautions. Life jackets are standard, and snorkelling is optional. Check the sea conditions with your hotel on the morning of the tour, and skip it in rough weather. During the monsoon, cancellations are common, so keep a buffer day.
