Da Nang and Hoi An 4 Days Itinerary: Ba Na Hills Golden Bridge, My Son and Hoi An Old Town

A 4-day Da Nang and Hoi An plan with current ticket prices: Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills, My Son Sanctuary, Hoi An Old Town and a beach day.

Quick answer: Four days works well: one day for Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge, one for My Son and Hoi An, one for Hoi An at your own pace, and one for the beach and Da Nang city. Stay in Da Nang if you want a beach, or Hoi An if you want the old town on your doorstep.

Where should you stay, Da Nang or Hoi An?

Da Nang has the beach, big hotels and the airport. Hoi An is quieter and prettier, about 30 minutes away, and best in the evening when the lanterns are lit. Many travellers split the stay. See Vietnam hotel prices for Indians for typical costs.

Day 1: Ba Na Hills and the Golden Bridge

The Golden Bridge sits inside Sun World Ba Na Hills, so one entry ticket covers it. Sources disagree on the adult price: figures range from 750,000 to 1,000,000 VND (about ₹2,800 to ₹3,700), with one source saying the ticket is valid for up to three days. Check the official Sun World booking page before you go. Go early to beat crowds and heat.

Day 2: My Son Sanctuary, then Hoi An

My Son is a group of Cham temple ruins. Foreign visitors pay 150,000 VND (about ₹560), and it is open 6:00 to 18:00. Go in the morning, when it is cooler. Then head to Hoi An for the afternoon.

Day 3: Hoi An Ancient Town

Walking the streets of the old town does not need a ticket. To enter monuments and museums you need one: the official Hoi An heritage notice lists an 80,000 VND ticket (the town area plus one monument, such as the Japanese Covered Bridge) and a 120,000 VND ticket (adds museums). That is about ₹300 and ₹450. Come back after dark for the lanterns and the night market.

Day 4: Da Nang beach and city

Spend the day at My Khe beach and the Da Nang city sights, then fly out. Da Nang is a short flight from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City; see how to travel between cities in Vietnam.

When is the best time to visit Da Nang and Hoi An?

February to May is the most reliable. Typhoon risk on the central coast is highest from August to November, with October the peak. See the best time to visit Vietnam.

How much does a Da Nang and Hoi An trip cost?

Entry tickets for this plan add up to roughly ₹4,000 to ₹5,000 per person. For the full budget, see our Vietnam trip cost guide, and compare Vietnam tour packages that include Da Nang and Hoi An.
