Phu Quoc Trip from India: Best Time, Cost and What to Do

Phu Quoc is Vietnam's beach island. Here is the best time to go, how to get there from India, the Hon Thom cable car, and what to confirm before you book.

Quick answer: Phu Quoc is best from November to April, when the south is driest. It is reachable from India by connecting flights, and Air India has run direct Delhi to Phu Quoc services. Confirm the current visa position and flight schedule before you book.

When is the best time to visit Phu Quoc?

The south, including Phu Quoc, is generally driest from about November to April. The wet months bring rougher seas that can disrupt ferries and flights. Shoulder months such as May or October have smaller crowds and cheaper airfares, if the weather behaves. Typhoons rarely affect Phu Quoc. See the best time to visit Vietnam.

How do you get to Phu Quoc from India?

Sun Group reported that Air India, with Vietravel and MakeMyTrip, began direct New Delhi to Phu Quoc flights on 10 December 2025, as a set of eight services through 10 January 2026. We could not confirm a 2026 schedule, so check with the airline. Otherwise, fly to Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi and connect. A fare page we checked listed Delhi to Phu Quoc one-stop fares of about ₹23,000, with August and October typically the cheapest months. Use our flight finder for live fares.

Do Indians need a visa for Phu Quoc?

Check this before you book. One travel-insurance guide says the visa exemption for Phu Quoc was narrowed in early 2026 and that the Indian consulate advises getting a Vietnam visa even for an island-only trip. We have not confirmed it on an official site. Our Vietnam e-visa guide covers the standard process.

What are the main things to do in Phu Quoc?

Beaches, island-hopping and the Hon Thom cable car to Sun World. A travel-agency blog puts the combined cable car and park ticket at roughly US$26 to $32 per person; confirm on the official site.

How much does a Phu Quoc trip cost?

Costs depend on the hotel class and flights. Use the figures in our Vietnam trip cost guide as a starting point, and add Phu Quoc to a Vietnam tour package.

Can you combine Phu Quoc with Ho Chi Minh City?

Yes, and it is the common route. See Ho Chi Minh City in 3 days, then fly to the island.
