Best Time to Visit Pattaya From India: When the Sea Is Calm and When It Rains

Pattaya is two hours from Bangkok and drier than Phuket in the rains. November to February is the clearest stretch; May to October has showers.

Quick answer: The best time to visit Pattaya is November to February: dry, a little cooler, and the sea is usually calm. March to May is hot and humid. May to October is the rainy season, but Pattaya sits on the Gulf of Thailand and normally gets less rain than Phuket or Krabi, so it is a decent rainy-season beach choice.

MonthsWeatherNotes
November to FebruaryDry and breezyPeak season; best for Koh Larn boat days
March to MayHot and humidFine for pools and evenings
June to OctoberShowers, often shortQuieter beaches, lower prices; rougher sea some days

How to plan around the weather

Pattaya is best treated as a two to three night add-on to Bangkok, not a full beach holiday. The road from Bangkok takes about two hours, so you can switch plans if the weather turns. Speedboat trips to Koh Larn are the usual beach day; operators cancel in rough sea, so keep a spare day.

Is Pattaya better than Phuket in the rains?

Usually yes for sea conditions, since the Andaman coast gets heavier monsoon weather from about May to October. For beaches in the dry months, Phuket and Krabi are prettier.

Is Pattaya good for families?

The main nightlife areas are not family-friendly; choose a hotel on Jomtien or Naklua and spend days at Koh Larn, a water park or a farm stay.

What is a good Pattaya and Bangkok split?

Two nights Pattaya plus three nights Bangkok works in November to February. See Bangkok month by month.
