Best Time to Visit Bangkok From India: Cool Season, Hot Season and the Rain Months

Bangkok is hot all year. November to February is the comfortable window; March to May is the hottest, and October is usually the wettest month.

Quick answer: The best time to visit Bangkok is November to February, when it is driest and least humid, with daytime highs around 30°C. March to May is the hottest and stickiest stretch. June to October is the rainy season, with afternoon downpours and, in September and October, a risk of street flooding. Bangkok is a city of malls, river boats and indoor attractions, so rain is rarely a trip-ender.

November to FebruaryDry, cooler evenings, lower humidityBest for walking, temples and rooftop dinners; busiest and dearest

What happens when

Loy Krathong (24 November 2026 in most sources) brings floating lanterns to the river and parks. Chinese New Year turns Yaowarat (Chinatown) into a street-food crowd. New Year's Eve countdowns at the big malls are busy, so book the hotel early.

Is Bangkok good in December?

Yes, it is one of the nicest months, and one of the most expensive. Book flights and hotels early and keep 20 December to 5 January in mind as the dearest dates.

Can I visit Bangkok in the rainy season?

Yes. Mornings are often clear, and rain falls in short heavy bursts. Hotels are cheaper and the temples are less crowded.

How many days do I need?

Three to four nights covers the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, a river ride, Chatuchak and food streets. See the Thailand best-time page for the whole country, and Phuket and Krabi by month if you are adding beaches.
