Bali Tourist Levy for Indians: IDR 150,000, How to Pay and What to Avoid
Every international visitor to Bali pays a tourism levy of IDR 150,000. Here is how to pay it, why Indians are not exempt, and how to avoid unofficial payment sites.
Quick answer: Foreign tourists to Bali pay a levy of IDR 150,000 (about ₹810 at ₹0.0054 per rupiah), paid online before you fly through the official Love Bali portal, then you show the emailed QR voucher. Indian passport holders are not exempt. It is separate from your visa fee.
How much is the Bali tourist levy?
IDR 150,000 per person (about US$9.50), per visit. Sources differ on frequency: one says per entry, while the Love Bali FAQ, as quoted by another source, says once during your stay in Bali before you leave Indonesia.
How do you pay the Bali tourist levy?
Pay through the official portal before you fly. Methods include card, bank transfer, virtual account or QRIS, and you show the emailed QR voucher at the airport. If the email does not arrive, you can resend the voucher using your invoice number and passport number.
Do Indians have to pay it?
Yes. We found no special rule for Indians, and the levy applies to every international tourist on a visit visa.
How is it different from the visa fee?
It is a separate payment. For the visa, see Bali trip cost from India, which covers visa-on-arrival and other costs. We have not verified the current visa-on-arrival fee against an official source, and our sources differed, so check before you travel.
What scams should you avoid?
Do not pay any amount other than the official fee, or use sites that are not the official portal.
What else should you plan?
