What mainly changes the price

Villa typeOne guide puts beach villas about 20 to 30% cheaper than overwater villas, and overwater pool villas about 20 to 30% above beach villas. A beach pool villa can cost about the same as a standard overwater villa.

Pool or jacuzziA basic water villa is listed at about US$250 to 450 a night; a water villa with a pool at US$1,100 to 3,500 in one guide.

Meal planThe same villa costs more with half board, full board or all-inclusive. Sheraton's US$430 water villa is half board; Cinnamon Hakuraa Huraa's US$279 includes breakfast only.

TransferSpeedboat about US$100 to 300 per person return; seaplane about US$200 to 450. These are charged on top of the room at most resorts.
