Why Vietnam Is Growing Fastest for Indian Travellers in 2026
Booking reports show Vietnam, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Indonesia rising among Indian travellers in 2026. What the reports say, why, and what a Vietnam trip costs from India.
Several 2026 reports put Vietnam at or near the top of Indian travellers' growth charts. Here is what they say, with the caveat that these are published reports and not Trripah's own data.
What the reports say
- An ixigo analysis of March bookings reported Vietnam up 130%, with Nepal up 88%, Sri Lanka 68%, Indonesia 33%, Singapore 32% and Thailand 22%. It linked the shift to Middle East flight disruptions and airspace constraints.
- A later festive-season update reported Hanoi bookings more than doubling from last year, and Bali, Colombo and Bangkok each up over 70%.
- Air India announced non-stop Delhi to Hanoi flights, and Akasa Air planned Mumbai to Hanoi, which makes Vietnam easier to reach.
- Earlier figures showed Indian visitors to Vietnam up about 42% in January to August 2025.
