Best Time to Travel from Bangalore in April, May and June — Destination by Destination
April, May and June are the biggest international holiday months for Bangalore families and couples. Here's exactly which destinations are perfect, which are acceptable, and which to skip — month by month.
April to June is when Bangalore empties into airports. School summer holidays start in late April. The heat in the city makes staying home unappealing. And for Indian couples, April and May are peak honeymoon months after the wedding season.
But not all destinations are equal across these three months. Here's the destination-by-destination breakdown.
April — The golden month
Japan: Cherry blossoms are at their peak in early April (Kyoto and Osaka). Book immediately — this window sells out completely. Perfect for couples and families.
Thailand: Hot but manageable (30–35°C). Songkran water festival is April 13–15 — the most spectacular street celebration in Asia. Avoid Phuket and Samui beaches in late April due to pre-monsoon humidity; Chiang Mai and Bangkok are better.
Europe: April in Paris, Rome, Prague, or Amsterdam — mild temperatures (14–18°C), fewer tourists than summer, beautiful spring light. Long-haul from Bangalore via Mumbai or Delhi in 10–13 hours.
Georgia (Tbilisi): Perfect. 18–22°C, the old city in full bloom. Best month to go.
Sri Lanka: Colombo and the west coast are dry and brilliant in April. Arugam Bay surf season begins. 1 hour from Bangalore.
May — Families moving
Bali: May is Bali's best month — just past the March-April shoulder season, into the long dry stretch. Temperatures 26–30°C. Not yet peak-season crowds. Ideal.
Maldives: May is technically the start of wet season, but 2026 is experiencing a weak monsoon year. Prices drop 20–30%. The underwater visibility is still exceptional. Risk: occasional rain, but not all day.
Vietnam: May is shoulder season for the south (Ho Chi Minh, Mekong Delta) and starting to heat up in the north. Best option is the central coast — Da Nang and Hoi An.
South Korea: May is arguably the best month in Seoul — mild (18–23°C), cherry blossoms in early May, vibrant street festivals. Highly recommended for couples.
Greece and Turkey: Perfect for Europe seekers — warm but not scorching, sea swimmable, crowds manageable. Santorini, Athens, Istanbul.
June — Late summer, better deals
Bali: Still in dry season until late October. Excellent. July–August will be more crowded and pricier; June is the smart choice.
Japan: Rainy season (tsuyu) starts in June — not ideal but manageable. Indoor experiences (teamLab, museums, traditional ryokan) are actually wonderful in the rain.
New Zealand: June is the start of southern hemisphere winter — but for Indian travellers, it means skiing in Queenstown and fjords without the summer crowds. Highly underrated.
Europe: June is peak summer in Europe — flights and hotels are at their most expensive. Book 3 months in advance if June Europe is the plan.
