Places to Visit Outside India in February: Honeymoon Month, Dry Season, and One Festival to Plan Around

February is dry in the Maldives, Thailand, Sri Lanka and the Gulf. In 2027 Lunar New Year lands on 6 February, which shuts shops in Vietnam and crowds Singapore.

Quick answer: February is a safe month for the Maldives, Thailand, Dubai, Sri Lanka's south and west coast, Singapore (usually its driest month) and Egypt. Plan around Lunar New Year on 6 February 2027: much of Vietnam closes for several days and flights fill. Avoid Bali for beach days, and Japan unless you want snow and plum blossom.

Booking tips

Valentine's week (around 14 February) is the single priciest week in the Maldives and Dubai. Leaving three or four days either side often saves a lot. See live fares on the Flight Finder.

Is Dubai fine during Ramadan?

Yes, but daytime dining is restricted in public places and hours change. Evenings are lively. Dates move each year, so confirm closer to travel.

What about Tet in Vietnam?

Plan to arrive before it, or after. Many restaurants and shops close, transport is crowded and prices rise.
