Nepal Tour Packages from India 2026: Cost, Best Time & 6-Day Itinerary

Nepal travel searches are breaking out in 2026. No visa, no forex hassle, Himalayas on your doorstep — here's what a package costs and how to plan the perfect trip.

"Nepal travel packages" was one of the biggest breakout searches in India this year — and it makes sense. No visa, no passport hassle, no forex drama, and the Himalayas just a short flight away. Here's the practical 2026 guide to planning a Nepal trip from India.

Do Indians need a visa for Nepal?

No visa is required for Indian citizens. You can travel on a valid passport or Voter ID card (Aadhaar is generally not accepted for entry). A passport is strongly recommended, especially when flying.

How much does a Nepal tour package cost?

For 5-6 days, budget roughly ₹18,000–30,000 per person on a budget, ₹35,000–55,000 mid-range, and ₹70,000+ for luxury — often excluding flights. Overland routes are cheaper. Trripah's customised Nepal packages start from ₹19,999.

Getting there: flights and overland

Fly direct to Kathmandu (KTM) from Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, or Mumbai in about 1.5–2.5 hours. Plan from Delhi. The budget alternative is overland via Gorakhpur to the Sunauli border, or by train to Raxaul for Birgunj. Pokhara also has an international airport now.

Currency: carry the right notes

Nepal uses the Nepalese Rupee (NPR). Indian ₹100 and ₹200 notes are widely accepted, but ₹500 and ₹2,000 notes are officially banned in Nepal — do not carry them. Full detail in our Nepal currency to INR guide.

A 6-day Nepal itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Day 2: Kathmandu Durbar Square, drive to Pokhara. Day 3: Sunrise over the Annapurnas from Sarangkot, Phewa Lake boating, paragliding. Day 4: Day hike or Davis Falls and the World Peace Pagoda. Day 5: Back to Kathmandu, optional Chitwan extension. Day 6: Departure. October–November and March–April give the clearest mountain views.
