Maldives Hotel Extras Not in the Price: Transfers, City Tax and Fees (Real Examples)

Maldives hotel prices often leave out transfers, green tax and city tax. Real examples show transfers adding 23% to 97% to a 3-night room bill.

Quick answer: In a MakeMyTrip sample of 25 Maldives hotels, the room price often leaves out the transfer and local taxes. For a 3-night stay the listings show city or green tax of about ₹3,400 (budget stays) to ₹6,800 (resorts) and, at remote resorts, transfers of ₹43,981 to ₹1,32,701 for all guests. A resort that looks like ₹45,820 a night can nearly double once a domestic-flight transfer is added.

Room totals are the lowest room per night multiplied by 3. Transfers are for the 3-night sample and all guests as listed; at ₹97 to the dollar, Baros's speedboat is about US$227 each, Anantara Veli's about US$346 each, JA Manafaru's flight about US$453 each and Mercure Kooddoo's about US$684 each. These are above the US$100 to 300 speedboat planning range used in some of our older guides, which we now treat as a floor for nearer resorts.
