How the Middle East Crisis is Making Your Next Holiday Cheaper — and Where to Book Now

International airfares are already down ~10% for summer 2026 as Gulf hub disruptions redirect demand. If you're flexible on destination, the next 3 months are one of the best windows to book an international trip from India in years.

Every travel crisis creates a window. The Middle East airspace disruption is the largest since COVID for Indian travellers — and just like 2022, the travellers who book fast and book smart will get deals that don't come around twice.

Why prices are dropping

When Gulf hubs (Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi) are disrupted, a few things happen simultaneously. First, passengers who were routing through those hubs to Europe and beyond are now forced onto alternate routes — Central Asia, South Asia, or direct flights. This floods demand into alternative carriers and routes. Second, destinations connected through Gulf hubs (Jordan, Egypt, Israel, Oman) see demand collapse almost entirely. Airlines with capacity there are now desperate to fill seats elsewhere.

The result: Southeast Asia, direct-to-Europe, and Indian Ocean island fares are at a relative discount right now because the airlines have shifted capacity to those routes. Expect this window to last 6–10 weeks before prices correct.

Where the deals are right now

Bangkok from Bangalore: ₹11,000–15,000 return (normally ₹14,000–20,000). Maldives from Kochi: ₹8,000–13,000 return. Singapore from Hyderabad: ₹12,000–18,000 return. Vietnam from Bangalore via KL: ₹16,000–22,000 return. Japan from Delhi: ₹38,000–55,000 return (weak yen still in play).

The summer 2026 opportunity

April to June is when Indian families plan their big summer holiday. School summer starts in late April and parents are already searching. If you're reading this in March and haven't booked yet — you're in the sweet spot. Hotel prices for May and June are still at off-peak, flights have capacity, and the weather windows for Japan (cherry blossom fading into green season), Europe, and South Korea are perfect.

What to book right now

For families: Japan (golden week is April 29–May 5, book AROUND this period not during), Bali, South Korea. For couples: Maldives (rainy season starts May but prices are spectacular), Europe (late April Paris or Rome). For solo travellers: Vietnam, Georgia, Philippines.

Trripah's summer packages are 8–12% lower than normal right now because we've locked in bulk hotel rates before the rebound. Talk to us before April.
